HOW DID IT START?

etnies founder and CEO Pierre Andre Senizergues has always been an advocate for change, with a heartfelt passion for the environment, and a mission to make etnies products the most durable and comfortable, while limiting our impact on the earth. It began with the concept of reducing etnies environmental footprint through the use of solar power, recycling efforts, and eco friendly technologies in our organization, in our journey towards becoming a carbon neutral company. etnies then designed and created styles like the Jameson 2 Eco using recycled, eco friendly, and vegan materials to help provide a choice for change within our offerings and products. The etnies Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree project was launched in 2011 in Costa Rica, with 35,000 trees planted within the first year. Since that time we have planted over 1.8 million trees, across three continents, with our partners Trees for the Future.

HOW DO WE GET GREENER? etnies design team is constantly researching and developing new ways to help limit our products impact on the environment, through utilizing sustainable eco-friendly materials, or clean initiatives in the manufacturing processes, we aim to get greener every year. Our latest eco-friendly initiatives starting Spring 2020 are represented in our PRESERVE and BLOOM collections. These collections feature our most eco-driven styles, designed to limit our products impact on the earth, utilizing new sustainable manufacturing processes like BLOOM, and incorporating additional recycled materials into some of our best styles. BLOOM algae technology transforms green water into clean water to make performance foams. BLOOM is the world’s first plant-based performance driven foam formulated with algae biomass. Their algae is a renewable biomass feedstock that cleans the environment and reduces the risk of algal blooms while reducing our dependence on fossil fools.
